Our history
Hello, my name is Jose Eduardo Zepeda the Owner of Kdulche Cafe I’m from Jamay, Jalisco, Mexico a small town close to Guadalajara, Jalisco.
I am the second born of five siblings that come from a family full of values and good traditions. My father is a doctor and my mother is an elementary teacher in Mexico.
I came to the USA when I was 16 years old with zero knowledge of English.
My first job was in Highland, Indiana at an american restaurant as a bus boy. Months later, I become a dishwasher at a german restaurant in Hammond, Indiana where I was given the chance to grow in the restaurant business.
Later on I become a food preparer, followed by an evening cook until I became the morning cook, the most important shift and position at that restaurant. Having worked there couple years, the owner eventually closed down the restaurant.
The following years, I was able to work as a waiter at a breakfast restaurant in Whiting, Indiana. In 2019, I worked for a bagel company in Frankfort, Illinois as a manager of one of three corporate stores until I was able to open my own business.
From November 2021 until July 2024 I had a business partner and, afterwards, was blessed to be the sole owner of the cafe.
I am a hard working Latino full of dreams and good intentions of helping and supporting others to grow as I was given the chance back then.
God has been the key for me to be where I am and to bring what Kdulche Cafe offers to those who visit. A cafe full of diversity in cultures and flavors! The most important thing for me is the “Familia!”That’s why we like to make you feel at home when you visit us.
